"Field Survey Work and Educational Tour to Visva-Bharati, West Bengal”—A Report
Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS), Rabindra Bharati University organized a two-day Educational Tour visit to Visva-Bharati, West Bengal, India from 17/02/2017 to 18/02/2017 for BLISC and MLISC students. The tour comprised students of BLISC and MLISC students accompanied by faculty members Dr Ziaur Rahman, Smt Snigdha Naskar and guest faculty Dr. Biswajit Dasthakur. Head of the department (DLIS, Rabindra Bharati University) Dr Sudip Ranjan Hatua wished all the students the best and safe journey.

All the students were directed to gather at Sealdah Station at 7:00 AM. We started our journey at 7:20 AM with Sealdah Rampurhat Maa Tara Express and reached at 10:45 PM at Bolpur Shantiniketan. After that, all students along with faculty members were taken to the site.
Places of visit:
Central Library, Vidya Bhavana, Siksha Bhavana, Sangit Bhavana, Kala Bhavana, Vinaya Bhavana, Rabindra Bhavana, Palli Samgathana Vibhaga, Palli-Siksha Bhavana, Patha Bhavana, and Granthana Vibhaga etc.
On day 1 of the tour students and teachers were visited Central Library, Vishwa Bharati University, Shantiniketan Griha, Sangit Bhavana, Kala Bhavana, Vinaya Bhavana. Day 2 began with a warm-up session which set the tone for the exhilarating day ahead. At first, we were visited Rabindra Bhavana, Palli Samgathana Vibhaga and then visited the weekly market at Shonajhuri. The lovely Shonajuri flowers, the colorful artifacts, the graceful tribal dancers and the songs of the Baul singers. It was amazing when we saw the tribal dancers dancing. On 18/02/2017 we were back in Kolkata and several of them said this was truly an unforgettable experience.
